Surgutskaya GRES-1

Surgutskaya GRES-1 is located in Surgut, Tyumen Region and is a part of the Ural UPS.

Surgutskaya GRES-1 is one of the largest power plants in the Russian Federation in terms of installed electric capacity.

The primary fuel for the power plant is natural gas. There is no reserve fuel; the starting fuel is gas.

The main competitors of Surgutskaya GRES-1 include Nizhnevartovskaya GRES (JSC “INTER RAO – Electric Power Plants”), Surgutskaya GRES-2 (JSC E.ON Russia) and Nyaganskaya GRES (JSC “Fortum”).
Compared to its rivals, Surgutskaya GRES-2 has the least flexibility, but the installed capacity of each of our competitors’ power units is four times higher than the installed capacity of each power unit at Surgutskaya GRES-1.
